The customer is a major FMCG client with a diverse product portfolio operating in 20 countries across Asia and Africa. The company has always supported industrial trends. The company was looking at a significant brownfield expansion in Maharashtra with several multiple-level PEB (pre-engineered building) structures. These structures represented a significant portion (30%) of the project’s total cost and were to house equipment for production, processing, and utilities.

  • Timeline: The project had a tight deadline and must be completed in 6–9 months.

  • Financial Strength: Proven track record of success, demonstrated by an annual turnover exceeding ₹80 crore.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience handling complex structures, ideally similar multi-level pre-engineered buildings reaching 49 meters in height
  • In-House Capabilities: In-house design and manufacturing capabilities for seamless project execution and quality control.

Solution

We at Venwiz approached the client requirements systematically. We started by

  • Project Understanding: We began by thoroughly understanding the project’s requirements through the client’s RFQ (Request for Quotation) and direct communication.
  •  Vendor Shortlisting: We created a detailed pre-qualification document (PQR) to identify suitable vendors. From an initial pool of over 40, we shortlisted 8 vendors for the client’s consideration. Ultimately, 6 vendors submitted quotes.
  • Streamlined communions: Facilitated client-vendor meetings to ensure project alignment. 
  • Site visit and technical meeting: Organized site visits and meetings so that vendors could assess the scope of work. 
  • Vendor support: -Venwiz helped the vendor understand the project scope and specifications and guided them to build a strong proposal. We provided design support through consultants. 
  • Vendor Evaluation: Venwiz relies on more than vendor claims. We conducted a comprehensive techno-commercial assessment, including:
    • Third-Party Verification: We visited and investigated vendor facilities and completed projects to ensure they meet our standards.
    • Detailed Reports: We created in-depth vendor assessment reports summarising their qualifications, past project feedback (including client experiences), and a line-by-line technical comparison of all 6 shortlisted vendors for each PEB job.

Impact

Venwiz helped build quality cost comparisons for 6 vendors. The final PO was 30% lower than the initial best quotes.
